Stephen was living with his wife Elizabeth and two sons in King Street, Coventry in 1851. Also living in the house were 3 female servants and a ribbon weaver.Witnesses to Stephen and Elizabeth's marriage were James Mathews and Ann Mathews. Note In this document the spelling is HOMMERTON.In the 1881 census for LLandudno Stephen was living at Elwy Villa with Charlotte M. his wife, aged 64 she was born in Coventry. A nephew John Carter, unmarried, aged 37 was living there he was an Income and An+ and was born in Bristol. There was also a servant Mary Ellen Jones, 26.Stephen died at the age of 77 at Elwy Villa Llandudno of Cardiac disease and apoplexy. He was described as 'of independant means'.Informant was Rosa HAMMERTON widow of the deceased Death certificate copied by A. E. Marshall 30/5/1958. Appn.
